From 1964 to 1970 Bouzo studied Architecture at the ETSA School of Architecture of Madrid and Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities of Universidad Complutense, Madrid. In 1981 he took part in a group exhibition for the first time, and two years later had his first solo show at Galería Berri in Ibiza. From 1983 to 1985 he studied metalworking and forging techniques at the School of Applied Arts and Crafts of Ibiza.

His practice has been defined as

 Metaphysical painting

, with dream-like paintings suffused with restrained fields of colour. In 1998 he obtained a Painting scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study at the Spanish Academy in Rome and in 2003, the Fundación Botín offered him the possibility to create his project Pooja: a Nexus with the Holy in India. His works have been acquired by major foundations and museums mostly in Spain, but also in the US and India, and he has been awarded prizes like the 2005 Comunidad de Madrid Art Creation Prize.
