General Information

Khoj curates and hosts themed residencies, exhibitions and projects throughout the year. Many of these are part of ongoing programs, more information about which is available here. For most programs, an open call for applications is put out through our website, inviting serious proposals. For participants invited or selected for a residency, Khoj provides artists’ studios, accommodation and expenses for production. We also give a small per-diem to cover some of the living expenses. The traveling expenses are covered depending upon the funds available for a residency.

Artists are encouraged to raise funding to cover their residency in New Delhi. Khoj is committed to raise funds for artists from the developing World and from countries that lack funding structures.

Khoj welcomes independent applications and proposals from creative practitioners, particularly those interested in interdisciplinary and experimental practice. Artists working in all media are invited to send in proposals. Since we have limited resources all applications cannot be realized. Only short listed proposals will be reviewed by Khoj. Due to a large number of emails that we receive, we might not be able to reply immediately to all enquiries .

Artists are encouraged to raise funding to cover their residency in New Delhi, including the costs of accommodation, studio rental, travel and local living expenses. Khoj will be able to provide independent and associate residents with support in local networking and facilitation, including access to our in-house facilities and services.

The Khoj Internship and Fellowship Program is designed to encourage young creative practitioners and students from diverse backgrounds to develop their skills and learn by participating in various Khoj programs.
