Bio: Gigi Scaria (Delhi)
Gigi Scaria was born in Kothanalloor, Kerala in 1973. He completed a BFA in painting from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram in 1995 and an MFA in painting in 1998 from the Jamia Millia University, New Delhi. Solo exhibitions of his work include ‘Absence of an Architect’ in Delhi in 2007, ‘Where are the Amerindians’ in Trinadad in 2005, and a show at Art Inc. in 2001. His work has been included in group exhibitions around the world and he has participated in artists residencies at CCA7 (Caribbean Contemporary Arts), Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, Khoj International artists association and Unidee, at Cittadellarte, Foundation Pistoletto, Biella, Italy. Gigi has been was given the Sanskriti Award in Visual Art in 2005 and an Inlaks Scholarship in 2002.
