KHOJ CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Programme Officer for the New Media Interfaces and Public Engagement Program.

KHOJ Invites applications for the post of Programme Officer to lead the New Media Interfaces and Public Engagement Programme at the KHOJ Studios.

Through this new project initiated in 2010, KHOJ plans to develop an open access institutional repository which will allow for engagement of past KHOJ projects and new projects on community and public art /urban redevelopment  through new media technologies. The Interfaces for New Media and Public Engagement Project will be informed by new media and urban studies and will invite artists, cultural practitioners, civil society groups, researchers, natural and social scientists in conjunction with local communities, to work on and help develop projects which are site- specific and have an inter-disciplinary approach that combines research and cultural and media production.

 

Job Description

Role: Programme Officer for  New Media Interfaces and Public Engagement Program
Reporting to: Executive Director
Location: KHOJ Studios, New Delhi with possiblity of travel
Work arrangement: Full-time permanent position


Responsibilities:

•    The Programme Offcier for this project will be expected to work with the KHOJ Executive Director to develop and deliver against clear timelines, deliverables and milestones for the program,.
•    The Programme Officer will also play a significant role in overseeing the design and building of the architecture  as well as coordinating and managing technical implementations for the project   in consultation with new media networking experts.
•    The Programme Officer will implement and track all programme plans as and lead the content development for all social media projects of KHOJ. He/she may be required to  curate new projects  if necessary .

 

Eligibility: Knowledge, skills and attributes required:

•    As a significant part of this post is learning and engaging with diverse forms and applications of web-based technologies, new media and social media, it is prefered that applicants have an active interest in this area and have a grip over social networking tools as well as some writing skills for the web.
•    In addition, as the project requires working with a diversity of people, practitioners and stakeholders across disciplines, applicants with strong management and relationship skills are preffered.

 

Eligibility: Minimum education qualification and work experience requirements:

KHOJ is looking for an individual based in New Delhi who should have: 
•    A Post-graduate Degree with a specialization in media/communications is preferred.
•    5+ years of work experience in the media, arts and/or communications field.
•    An Exposure to contemporary and emerging arts.
•    A demonstrated track record of managing projects.


Monthly Salary – Rs 30,000/-

Greetings. Please find enclosed information regarding ARThinkSouthAsia (ATSA), a fully funded Fellowship in Arts Management (2011-12), addressed to today’s cultural practitioners. The Fellowship is being initiated and sponsored by the South Asian network of Goethe Institutes, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The ATSA Fellowship is designed to help develop skills, knowledge, networks and experience of potential leaders in the cultural sector of South Asia which include museums, the visual and performing arts and digital media.

We welcome applications from practitioners working across a wide range of creative and cultural activity, as also from those who are working outside it who demonstrate a knowledge, understanding and passion for culture. Artists and persons with unconventional careers and experiences are also invited to apply.
