We know what to expect: We wait outside, or arrive in a hurry, to get our ticket. Past the coca-cola and popcorn, we enter the hall, taking our seats among the other people. Everyone chats while the lights are on matters of their daily lives. A hush falls as the lights go down. Trumpets blare. The projected image begins and we fall deeply into watching.

The Second last night before the Open Studio on the 31st of this month finds Michael Peter Cain finishing up the mad wiring and adding final touches to the sonic and motorised elements of the whackiest installation of sculpture ever to have been rendered at the Khoj Studio . KHOJ INTERNATIONAL SOUND RESIDENCY
(NOV 1- 30th, 2006)

'Sound art' has emerged as a media that challenges the defined categories of sound /art /visual art /music /science /engineering. Creative experiments with sound play on the fringes of our often-unconscious aural experience in spaces.
The four-week intensive KHOJ International Sound Residency between Nov 10 to 30, 06 is focused at exploring the nexus between technology, sound-scapes and creativity.
