Light Workshop

The Light Workshop was organised for the members of the KHOJ Advisory Group of Artists. This was an in-house week long workshop, where each artist worked on individual compositions using different lighting devices.

For the Khoj International Residency 2003, Khirkee Village served as the site and source for the participating artists to develop ideas and generate discourse. It meant re-reading and exploring India and the diversity Delhi, within the mini cosmos that is Khirkee.

During the course of an intense six weeks, the Khoj Studios proved to be an expanding accommodating platform to support and encourage exchange between these individuals from diverse backgrounds, disciplines and practices.

Keith Harrison

The relationship between clay and electricity is a central concern of my work. Applied to these two constants is a third factor suggested by a domestic appliance, an event or a specific location.
The process of transformation is an intrinsic part of the work. Visible firings have taken place in galleries, a laboratory, a living room and a cafe.

The artists collectively demonstrated a diversity of concepts, methodologies and media.

Mamoon was trained as a painter, but his works have gradually shifted to issue based installations in specific environments that make a direct use of space in relation to objects / tools. These translate into signs describing intentions that change in the hands of the aggressors, as he has been a witness to in recent past, the context both personal and particular.
