Light Workshop

The Light Workshop was organised for the members of the KHOJ Advisory Group of Artists. This was an in-house week long workshop, where each artist worked on individual compositions using different lighting devices.

Peers 2006

PEERS is a 4-week residency programme for recent graduates from art colleges across India initiated with support from the India Foundation for the Arts (IFA), which provides an opportunity for exchange and dialogue. The PEERS Program hopes to create a regular forum for experimentation, development, and critique within an alternative educational framework. PEERS 2006 brought together a diverse group of students from across the country onto a common platform that worked to provide an opportunity for open knowledge sharing within the group and the community.

The Second last night before the Open Studio on the 31st of this month finds Michael Peter Cain finishing up the mad wiring and adding final touches to the sonic and motorised elements of the whackiest installation of sculpture ever to have been rendered at the Khoj Studio . As a forum that aims to actively push the envelope of contemporary art practice mediated through practices that foreground qualities of experimentation, invention, research and critical debate, KHOJ positions PEERS as a model for practice as research within the ambit of the visual arts. International Residency Feb-Mar 2003

This residency was planned as a sculpture and plastic arts one. During the six weeks, most of the artists developed an interest in each other's work and techniques. The different languages and scripts of India inspired the works done by the Barbara and Patrice. This was painted onto the seedpods reminiscent of the laburnum tree commonly found on every road in Delhi. Soman worked with the theme of smell as a sarcastic and humorous comment on the social system and its dirty politics.
