University of the Arts London Residency Partnership

University of the Arts London (UAL) and Khoj International Artists’ Association present a new residency partnership as part of UAL’s Art for the Environment Residency Programme (AER). The AER programme offers UAL students and recent graduates a two to four week residency period at Khoj Studios to explore concerns that define the twenty-first century – biodiversity, environmental sustainability, social economy, human rights – and through their artistic practice, envision a world of tomorrow.

Through personal research, studio production time, critiques and mentoring sessions, the residency programme provides a platform for creative individuals, working across various disciplines, to imagine and create work that can make an impact on how we interact with the environment and each other.

The residency is held from 1 August to 31 August 2017. Vanessa Lovell is the artist in residence for this programme.

Vanessa Natalie Lovell is a London based fashion textile designer specialising in printed textiles and embellishment. Currently studying on the Central St Martins MA Fashion course, Vanessa’s previous industry experience includes work for DKNY, Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou.
