Public Art Res 05
“Much of the public art that we know today had its inception in site-specific projects. But we, at KHOJ would like to propose in this residency a pursuance of public art where the site-specificity transcends from being a mere spatio-physical intervention to becoming an extension of the community within which the project is situated. It is interesting and important to acknowledge that space within the community, is not merely a physical measurement, but a social, economic and political entity; it derives its dynamism from the fact that most of these spaces are contested. These spaces become a means of expression for the community rather than just a means of transit.”Subba Ghosh
