Khoj collaborates with The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Centre

Khoj International Artists’ Association is excited to collaborate with The Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center, to raise the visibility of artists from across Asia, and enable exceptional artists from the region to advance their work through the prestigious Bellagio Arts and Literary Arts Residency program.

Khoj believes in empowering and supporting artists and art practices that are experimental, radical, marginalized and critical. Together with the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center, Khoj will recruit highly distinguished artists and creative practitioners within Asia to experience and interact with the diverse community of intellectuals at the Bellagio Center, thereby recognizing and enabling new possibilities and opportunities for artists from the greater Asia region.

The Rockefeller Foundation ‘s Bellagio Center identified Khoj as a key arts space within the Asian region, having the capacity to reach out and expand upon its network and source potential candidates to take part in a unique residency opportunity at the Bellagio Center in 2016.

“Our collaboration with Khoj International will create new opportunities for Asian artists to share, to think, and to engage in the exceptional multi-disciplinary environment of the Bellagio community—opening doors to initiate global dialogues about issues impacting us on an international scale and expanding their reach to ever-broader audiences.” – Claudia Juech, VP Bellagio Programs

The residency model is a structure Khoj strongly advocates, as this is the backbone of its organization, standing in as an endless source of enquiry, experimentation and research. Khoj looks forward to recruiting exceptional Asian artists to participate in the fertile experience offered by The Bellagio Center’s Residency Program, where diverse thinkers and practices come together to inform one another.

“Khoj is excited to collaborate with the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, to provide an unparalleled residency experience which showcases the diversity, strength and excellence of art practice within the Asian subcontinent to an international audience. Khoj is dedicated to forging partnerships which provide the space and scope for unique and valuable exchanges and dialogues between artists and creative, innovative practitioners.” – Pooja Sood, Director Khoj International Artists’ Association.
