International Performance Art Residency begins

The first Performance residency in 2004 was significant for the emphasis placed on the body and the politics surrounding it, while 2006’s residency saw a greater focus on live performances in the public sphere. (Feb-March 07) Performance Art Residency will more specifically address the theatricality of installation art and the reality of performance art as installation. The invited artists come from a wide cross section of practices that vary from live art to installation based performance, but the common thread will be the nexus between performance and installation.
