TOTO FANTASIA
Industrial ceramic urinal and wash basin pedestals with fired onglaze painting and lustre, 200 raku butterflies, coal bed.
A play on the industrial object which gets transformed into a Venus Flytrap has resonances of the gender play in Funk Art of the sixties. The installation has hovering smoky black and lustre butterflies which mirror the bed of coal that the Venus flower arises from.

1)Ceramic bottles:- Open the lid enjoy the odour. If you cannot withstand it close the lid and read the poem only at the end.
Covering up of the original/natural odour (a biological phenomena) with artificial fragrance reflects the socio-cultural behavior of the society. odour as disorder or order
2)Labeled fragrances:- read it, get attracted to a humorous civilization.
3)Mirror:- The faded central point of the mirror, with the trademark 'Disguise'?a negative response/a negative reflection/absence of reflection?a faded image /a faded character of civilization. What not! Forget the spiral dimension of the faded mirror.
4) Apron:-Written as it-Freedom is dictated, culture is dictated.
5) Poems : -
When the heads of Nations smell bad
they sell it as war
we buy it.
When heads of religion smell bad
they sell as faith
we buy it.
When the philosophers smell bad
they sell it as culture
we buy it.
When artists smell bad
they sell it as art
we buy it.
When we smell bad
We sell it
We buy it.
That is the end.
