Community Film Screening

The community project of showing Charlie Chaplin’s film to the Khirki Village people was half successful and half aborted. Despite the effort put in the setting up of the speakers, placing the screen and seeking permission from the temple authorities to show in their lawn the project failed just because of the power cut. When the screening started we could see a number of kids eagerly waiting. For the first 20 minutes screening of “The Tramp” put them into a jubilant mood laughing and commenting. When the power was off all on a sudden they indulged in singing songs and dancing prolonging as much as to remain there hoping the electricity would be retained. But then at last we dispersed with a little sad note.
